Does anyone ever think about what happened after the broadcast about Miranda went out? I ran a game one time that dealt with the idea. We had this theory that the Alliance would probably own up to it in an effort to minimize damage and then "research" the cause, spinning the ill effect away from themselves.

The game went on to theorize that, if it could be isolated, the chemical that created the reavers could be weaponized, leading to...well...for lack of a better way to word it, intense badness.

But what do you think? Do you think something like that would work, or were we looking at the first rumblings of the second uprising? Are there more browncoats in the fireflyverse future?

Well, it certainly is interesting to consider that where Joss left off in Serenity, may very well have been the start of a second uprising. Though, I think that the Alliance would have found some sneaky way of covering it all up...or maybe they would own up to it, who knows?

What I really want to know is whether the Alliance would still consider the Tams as fugitives even though the Operative had said that they were no longer a threat to them.

A second war would probably seem a little too far-fetched, though. What would be interesting to see would be how the Alliance would deal with the Reavers, now that everyone knows how they were created.

I think the second uprising would be less of a war and more of..well, if you saw V for Vendetta...that's kind of how I picture it. If you haven't, well I won't spoil you so I'll use our lovely tags.

Spoiler:

I picture it as kind of a silent, but firm uprising of the people. A stand together, ready to be gunned down kind of moment, rather than an all out fight. There's a very real difference between the two. On the one had, the browncoats, the fighters, they waged their war and lost. But to have everyone, including mothers and children, standing up and saying "this is bigger than me and this is the side I stand on," well I think if the Browncoats had had that devotion to begin with, they might have won the war.
