I read it and I didn't quite like it. I didn't care much about the other Buffys and after reading this issue, I still don't. So I thought it was a waste of a comic.

Even with that said, I thought the story was excecuted well. The time jump thing was done well and though it was confusing at first, I managed to get into it at the second reading. Loved the TV commerical with Andrew.

But I feel that this story shouldn't have been place in season 8 but maybe somewhere else like 'Tales of a Slayer'. I hope the next arc doesn't soley focus on Faith but also touch on the gang a little.

Yesterday after a long, hard day I sat down to read latest Buffy season 8 issue and I have to say ... that I survived it.

If you know me even a little, you know that I don't care for potentials so it was kind hard for me to read a comic with one of them like major character. Anyway I did and I have to say that I liked the girl.
This time around the comic wasn't fragmented and non-sense like the precedents were and I actually felt the girl doubts and loneliness. Joss Whedon managed to write once again greatly both death, isolation and what to feel to be an outside character.

Anyway I guess that since Joss Whedon had changed his mind about Buffy partying in Rome, then it was doomed to have at least a comic talking about these girls wearing Buffy's face and dying around the world instead of her and now here is my biggest trouble.

Why the H... Buffy Summers is accepting something like this?
Sure I don't love the blonde slayer and I think that she is selfish and self-centred but not at the point to leave girls dies because the demons think that they are against her.

I can't seriously believe that Buffy changed so much. Sure she grew up and now she is a leader. She needs to take decisions for the humanity salvation but here we are talking about the same girl that didn't leaved Willow in the Mayor's hand no matter how many lives Willow's death would preserve.. so this doesn't make sense to me.. at least doesn't if there won't be a sort of explanation in the following issues but knowing Joss Whedon I don't believe will see it soon.

In short I liked this issue but I feel like this isn't Btvs anymore.. I don't know I have still a little hope that this season won't end badly like the precedent one but it's becoming really a tiny hope.

Um....was this really Buffy the Vampire Slayer? It sure as hell didn't think about it. I loved Andrew's commercial, though But, Buffy letting girls die? And not only that, but, NO BUFFY, XANDER, DAWN, WILLOW, AMY, WARREN, etc., etc. NO ONE WAS IN THIS! This doesn't feel like Buffy anymore because this isn't how Buffy works. She doesn't work with all these gadgets with millions of people in her army and if some people die, who gives a damn? No....

Surely you'd have to expect some changes to how Buffy and co would operate, after the change in status quo at the end of season seven, wouldn't you? It wasn't how Buffy operated, but that was before there were thousands of Slayers running around.

There is a reason it was called a stand-alone... It is Buffy, it is exploring everything that is going on in the verse that has to do directly with Buffy herself. Buffy never said that she never gave a damn, the Buffy-look-a-like was saying that no one really knew her and that it didn't even matter as long as she knew herself. We don't even know if Buffy knew everything about what was going on with the underground slayer, Giles could have told her anything and this really plays into whether or not he is slipping into the darkside or not. I'm sure we will see Buffy's reaction soon, or at least I hope so. Buffy also never had giants/army's of zombies/giant magic battles, but that all seems like Buffy, why not a stand-alone too?

I think this is my favorite issue so far, I love that we ventured outside of the scoobies and looked into what was going on with Faux Buffy. It was extremely moving, moving enough to actually get me writing BD again. I loved that we went inside the life of what it is to be a new slayer and all about the Chain. I really look forward to seeing into the lives of some other slayers as well, and more into what the slayer spell has caused.
