Title: Nostalgic Sins
Author: Joe (EndersWrath)
Rating: Just like any regular Episode of Buffy
Disclaimer: It's Joss' world... I just write in it
A/N: I never really could decide when this was gonna take place, because I wanted it to be after 'Family', and to have Buffy in her dorm at UCSD, and no Dawn. So I guess this just takes place in an Alt. Season 5...enjoy
A/N the second: This was pretty much my first dip into prose, so it probably isn't way up there. I haven't touched this fic in quite some time, so hopefully rewatching the Buffy movie and posting this again it will open up the muse gates for it.
A/N the third: If you haven't seen the Buffy movie, I'm not too sure if you will get it as well if you had...
CHAPTER ONE
Buffy walked down a narrow corridor, the shadows were dancing around her. She could hear someone softly calling her name from down the corridor, she gripped the stake in her hands even tighter, she could feel the wood softly splintering in her hand. As she got farther down the hallway the voice grew louder. She glanced behind herself and saw a figure coming forward slowly, they didn’t seem like a threat but Buffy didn’t want to risk it, she increased her pace to a slight jog. She had reached the end of the corridor, she opened up the door and it lead into a crypt like room, a coffin was placed in the middle and in front of it stood a vampire, not any vampire though, the King of Vampires: Lothos.
Lothos called Buffy over to him, he entranced her with his undead powers, leaving her helpless. The figure that was following Buffy stepped through the doorway, it was her watcher Merrick.
Merrick rushed over to Buffy. “ No, not this one Lothos.”
Merrick raised his stake and thrust it towards Lothos, but Lothos caught it and stabbed Merrick with his own stake.
“Merrick!!” Buffy cried out.
Buffy jerked up quickly from the dream, it had a haunting feeling to it, and the cold sweat didn’t help any. She looked around to see where she was exactly. Giles place, of course, he had called her over to help with research on the new creature feature. Uh-oh she thought, hopefully Giles hadn’t caught her sleeping. She looked around for him. He was no where to be found. She sat more upright and began searching the area. Nope, no Giles. She had the wigs, though it could have been from the dream she just had. Buffy stood up and sat the book on the coffee table that she had been “reading” and went over to Giles’ desk. There were books and scribbling on notebook paper about the demon they had been researching. She went to pick up a book when a startling hand grabbed her shoulder.
“Buffy”
She turned quickly and was about to punch the guy when she realized that it was Giles.
“Giles, what the hell?”
“I think I should be asking you that.”
Buffy realized that she still had her fist up, and lowered it.
“Oh, oops” she said sheepishly. “I thought you were evil”
“No, I was just seeing if you were all right, you were mumbling in your sleep, a premonition?”
“No just a dream.”
“Can you tell me about it?”
“It‘s nothing really”
“Are you sure?” Giles pushed on.
“Yeah. So what about our demon? You find anything good?” She asked him, trying to get him to talk about anything other than the dream.
“Nothing too unusual, but we should be able to find out where it is nesting so we can take it out before it kills anyone else.”
“Good.” Buffy told him. “I’ll get Willow to make sure it’s the right place with a locator spell.”
“I could just go down there and do some recon” Giles suggested.
“No.” Buffy told him quickly. “It’s too dangerous, I don’t want you getting hurt.”
“I’ve done this before Buffy, I can handle myself.”
“I said no. Willow can do this and there won’t be the side effect of you possibly dying.”
“I’m quite capable of handling myself, but if you don’t wish for me to be apart of this then I won’t be.” he told her.
“Thank you.”
Giles sat down in the chair at his desk and removed his glasses and begun to rub the bridge of his nose.
“Does this recent over concern about my safety have anything to do with your dream?”
Buffy shot him a glance. “I told you it was nothing. I’m gonna head over to the campus and see if Willow and Tara can help with the locator spell.”
And with that and without giving Giles any time to respond she left his apartment. Giles continued to look on at the door, wondering to himself what could of possible gotten into his slayer.
~---~
Buffy opened the door to her dorm she looked inside. Nope, no Willow. She must be with Tara, Buffy thought. Willow wasn’t the only reason she wanted to stop by her dorm though. She walked over to her bed and bent down and pulled out a little box, she opened it up and it was full of little mementos and a book.
“Hello Diary”
She flipped open the Diary and started flipping through pages until she found the one she wanted.
"May 1st, 1996
Dear Diary,
Lately I’ve been having these strange dreams…But in all of them I am never myself, except I am. In all of them I am a woman with amazing strength fight things I believe are Vampires. Then there is this one “Vampire” that always beats me, in every one of my dreams, I am not able to kill him. But that’s not even the strangest part, today a man name Merrick came up to me, can you say total Wiggins? He told me that I am some sort of Chosen One, he called me The Slayer. Then if that wasn’t the freakiest thing ever, he took me to a graveyard and showed me REAL LIFE Vampires!! OMG! I was so totally freaked out. But it all felt so natural the way I drove the stake into the Vampires heart. Well he said that I would have to start skipping cheerleading practices to train with him. Skip cheerleading to hang out with Mr. Ancient? Yeah, as if. Well bed is soo calling me now. Night."
Buffy closed the diary. She got up and laid down on her bed, ever since she started having the dreams about Lothos, she felt tired all the time. Were they dreams that meant something or could just be because of her a Dracula’s recent meeting? Whatever it was, she didn’t like it. She closed her eyes and dozed off.
There she was with Lothos again. Merrick had slumped down and was now dead. Murdered my a vampire with a stake. Kinda ironic. She moved forward. There was no way she would allow Lothos to get away with this. She lunged forward at him but he was too quick, after all he was King of the Vampires. He grabbed her by the neck and held her to him. Her back against his chest.
“You aren’t ready yet slayer”
“I’m ready enough to kick your undead ass.” she replied with a quip.
He raised one of his fingers and gently cut her neck. Blood began to drip down. She tried to escape, but she was unable to, she wasn’t strong enough to beat him. All of a sudden she began to be shook my some unseen force.
“Buffy?”
“Buffy, wake up.”
Again she jerked awake. But this time she wasn’t alone. Over her stood her best friend Willow Rosenberg.
“What?” Buffy gasped.
“Oh my God” Willow said pointing to Buffy’s neck.
Buffy looked at Willow with a puzzled look. She then touched her neck and felt it was moist and warm. She looked at her hand and saw blood. Blood form the very scratch Lothos gave her in her dream. Buffy looked back up at Willow.
“Oh no.”
to be continued...
