Okay, I decided to start a Spuffy discussion thread. And I sincerely hope I won't have to talk about Spuffy by myself here.

Most of you who know me probably are aware that I am a big Spuffy fan. In fact for me Spuffy is the best thing in the whole BtVS. I have never loved any other TV couple like I love Spuffy. Buffy and Spike make me laugh and cry, love and hate - and that is all I want from a love story.

Their story together is unique, complicated and ever fascinating. I became a Spuffy shipper long before they became a couple - already during season 3 when I noticed by Lover's Walk what a great chemistry those two had together. It's not only the passion and heat I love about them, though it is of course a big part of it. But they also share a bizarre, kind of unwanted but still profound and "natural" friendship and understanding. I believe that Spike understands Buffy and the darker side of her in a way nobody else does. And the love for Buffy made Spike change from villain to some type of anti-hero and then finally a champion. Their journey together is long and bumpy, and it both entertains and touches me deeply.

In my opinion fire is a proper element to describe the relationship. Fire is both destructive and recreative?, and so is Spuffy. Buffy and Spike got both hurt in the process, but they also grew and developed. I am a firm believer that Buffy did love Spike in the end, but she chose a wrong moment to finally say it aloud. It did break my heart how Spike rejected her words of love - it was a moment he had waited for so long.

I have dozens of favourite Spuffy moments. One of them is when at the end of FFL Spike goes to Buffy's house with the shotgun but ends up conforting her instead. I also love the simple scene when after Buffy's resurrection Spike holds her hands and counts the days he has been without her. Also the church scene in Beneath Me is so powerful and emotional, I cried like a waterfall when watching it for the first time. And it still makes me cry and gives me the shivers.

Anyway, if anyone would like to talk about Spuffy, it would be nice if you could share your reasons for loving Spuffy and your favourite Spuffy moments. Spuffy forever!

I can't say I'm a spuffy. most people that knows me knows that I'm a bangel BUT unlike some diehard (weird) fans I actually get Buffy's other relationships and the whole Spuffy thing and understands the need she had for him and vice versa. Of course I don't see them living together for the rest of Buffy's life but I get that he loved her alot and that he was in her heart and he held a special place there that only Spike could. They were on a different level of things and they connected on other parts of life.

Even as a Bangel I love the scene in season 7 when Spike talks about leaving and Buffy tells him he can't because she's not ready for him to not be there anymore.
