The wish is personally one of my absolute favourite episodes. But I was contemplating one thing. Right before Giles smashes Anyankas necklace we see the Master killing Buffy. Buffy has also slain Willow, Xander and Angel died, while saving Buffy. Oz isn't in the best position and Giles, well he's got Anyanka on his hands.
what if Giles had failed and Anyanka had killed him, effectivly ending the chance of bring everything back to normal, the way the world should look. What would have happened. With Buffy and her gang dead and Oz on his way there as well, would Sunnydale and Californien survived the Hellmouth and the Master's plans? Wolfram and Hart would probably have shown their faces earlier and made sure they were in the loop/plans. With Faith nowhere to be seen, would she have stepped up and made sure to close that Hellmouth.. and what if she failed as well?
The thought isn't very beautiful, just the oposite. I'm just curious what you guys think would have happened had that reality stayed with us
(nevermind that it's a show.. so no 'the show would have ended' comments please )

Hmm...well Kendra would be called first wouldn't she? Now her I can see coming in and trying to stop it, I don't know how well she would succeed in it, but I know she would try. Now with Faith, um...hmm... hehe. I love her character to death, but I don't know. She has the potential but I don't think she would do as great as Kendra would. Faith is a great fighter but I really believe that Buffy pushed her in that direction and with Buffy being six feet under, I dunno how she would fare.
I love the idea of this and how morbid it is, hehe.
Hell, maybe even the PTB would get off their asses and chime in about it, I mean a great evil just sitting on the Hellmouth, controlling it, I don't think that would be in their favor at all. _________________

I think that Sunnydale would be doomed. While I think that Kendra would tried everything she could to defeat the Master, I can't see her winning against him.
The same is worth for Faith. I have to agree with Joe here, when he says that while she is a great fighter, without Buffy pushing her in the right direction, she would be even a more easy target than Kendra for the Master.
Anyway a world without Willow, Xander, Angel, Buffy and probably Giles would be so boring for me, no matter that Spike and Drusilla could make an appereance in it.

Ok, so I didn't take into account that Kendra would probably be alive in this reality, though I would not count on it as she was a good fighter but she was never good with 'being in the moment' as a fighter and finding other ways to defeat the enemy should her original plan go 'poff'.
I love being morbid like this, Joe, it kinda makes you think about how different things would have been.
But if Faith would have failed as well, who would have been next in line? would the watchers council acted and sent in their 'agents' and like Joe said, would the PTB just have sit backed and watched the world go down the drain?
Perhaps the world would have looked alot more different with Sunnydale being run over by demons and with the Master in the front seat, but surely there would have been someone who would have acted against them, to fight for the world, to (as angel put it) show it what it can be! Would Spike really have been on the Marsters side? I'm not sure about that, the guy loves evil and eating people (or he did) but he's not one for being the lapdog of another evil. He doesn't take orders, or he does until he sees a way to make things go his way. Would Darla and Drusilla made a move, especially Darla.
There's alot of things that could have happened and it would have been so interesting to find out what that would have been.
