I couldn't believe that no one else had start a Lost thread until now, so I thought to do it myself
Lost: I love this show.
I think that it is the best (beside Btvs) running show on TV in the last years.
First season was greatly portrayed and it kept me attached to the screen every single episode.
On contrary of many people I liked season two too.
My favorite characters are Sawyer and Sayid while it itches me badly Jack and his "fake" perfection. God complex much?
Anyway do you like this show?
yes? No?
Why?
Let open the discussion want you?

I'm a Sawyer fan, too. Locke and Eko are my favorites though. I definitely love Saywer and Kate together rather than her with Jack .. ew. Desmond was great, too.
I love the show because it is soooo different than anything else on TV and it has so many interesting plots that I thrive to see every week. I also love how we can be a part of the experience outside of the show, online.
Anywho, summed up: great story, great acting, great everything. I can't wait until it's back on!!

I love Lost. Granted, the first season was better than the second. I have never watched a whole season in two days before I watched Lost season 1 during one weekend last winter. I was so hooked! The show was just different from anything I'd seen before. The characters were interesting and mysterious, the island both amazingly beautiful and scary etc. I just love the whole atmosphere and settings.
During the second season the plot seemed to slow down too much, but I still enjoyed watching it a lot. I liked some of the new characters, but I did hope they would have given us more answers to the mysteries the island beholds. I mean I enjoy the feeling of being lost in a strange enviroment with the characters, but instead of more and more secrets and mysteries it would be great too learn also some true answers.
But even with that said, I think Lost is a great show, and I look very much forward seeing the season 3 as soon as it gets out on DVD.
My favourite characters are Sayid, Mr. Eko, Sun and Sawyer. Sayid is the one I love the most. He's very intelligent, recourceful and has this kind of quiet strength and dignity I admire.
Spoiler:
I didn't like his romance with Shannon, though, so I wasn't even sad when Shannon died. But it was a pity that Sayid had such a small and rather shallow role during season 2!
I would marry Sayid if I could! I want a sensitive and strong man like that!!
Sun is my favourite female character. Other females seem little dull and not that likeable, but Sun is so very gentle and beautiful but also smart and in the end very determined and almost shrewd. Her relationship with Jin is touching and makes me emotional.
Sawyer is a complicated character, and sometimes I feel more like hating than loving him. I especially hate how he's cruel not only towards people but also towards helpless and innocent animals!! But I like his relationship with Kate (I don't like Kate as a single character, but with Sawyer she's good!), and he's so damn hot. One of the sexiest men I have ever seen on TV. Plus I love those rare moments when we see glimpses of the kind of understanding and caring man Sawyer could have been if his life had turned out differently. He had quite crappy starting points for his life - let's hope he can still make a change of direction, because he does deserve better despite all his faults!
Mr. Eko is just fascinating and somehow very charismatic. I always love watching him move, talk - he has this very strong and enigmatic presence. He is both threatening and "protective" at the same time. He has some of Locke's obsessiveness and disturbing faith in destiny, but he is much more symphatetic - and attractive.
Jack is the one I hate with passion. There was way too much Jack during season 2. He is just arrogant, selfish, self-absorbed and controlling. Like Rua said - Jack suffers from a bad and annoying god complex indeed! I would hate to have to communicate with a person like him. He is always complaining how he has to bear all the responsibility and how people made him the leader - yet at the same time is is totally incapable of sharing the responsibility and respecting other people's knowledge and talents. A bad leader and unpleasant man. I would hate if Kate ends up with him. I'm sure Jack would eventually manage to suffocate her free spirit and mind.
A long ranting about Lost - beats writing an essay.

How I could forget about Eko? He is one of my favorite characters too. His tormented past make him a man full of surprise and he leave me always wondering what his reaction to the events will be.
On contrary of Kirsi I loved
Spoiler:
Shannon and Sayid relationship. I thought that it was helping Shannon to improve greatly like person.
and talking about spoilers....
Spoiler:
who do you think is the father of Sun' child?
I think that she had a phisycal relationship with her first boyfriend... but since the isle is a mistery generator , I wouldn't put away the idea of something supernatural going on with her pregnancy.

Spoiler:
I don't think being with Shannon did Sayid any good. I don't care about Shannon and what the relationship was to her - I'm that cruel. But honestly: I never saw any chemistry between those two, and I also think Shannon was too young and shallow for Sayid. Sayid needs a real woman, and I was very fond of his story with Nadia. You are right of course - the relationship helped Shannon to grow as a person. But I still think another type of woman would suid Sayid much better, and their relationship felt forced to me. It was like the writers just wanted to add some romance and paired those two.
And what comes to the other spoiler you mentioned:
Spoiler:
Like you, I think the child is her ex-boyfriend's, not Jin's. I don't believe there is anything mystical there either - Sun cheated on Jin, and now she's pregnant. The look on her face was so troubled but determined when she told Jin about the baby. And I think she made the right decision - letting Jin know about how she got pregnant would do neither of them any good. They are stuck on the island fod god knows how long. If they were elsewhere, living a normal life, I think Jin should know. But not on the island because they can't get away from each other in any case, and the truth would only make their lives a lot more difficult there. But I'm sure her secret will eventually expolode and cause her a lot of misery...
